132 Competitors gathered at the new BC Driving Centre in Pitt Meadows BC to fight it out for the title of National Champion. A weekend of mixed weather conditions and a new surface posed challenges for everyone and there was no home field advantage. The 250' x 1100' asphalt surface was only completed two weeks prior to the event. This event marked the 25th running of a national AutoSlalom championship event since the Nationals concept was born back in the early 70's. To mark this occasion, Alan Rae from Calgary, the grandfather of Canadian AutoSlalom, was in attendance and won another Championship crown. The Mayor of Pitt Meadows was present in taking the first official run of the event. 36 National Champions were crowned with each of them claiming a trophy as well as a product package from associate sponsor Motul Lubricants. Kumho Tire Canada awarded a set of tires to Overall National Champion, Karl Coleman form Seattle WA. VCMC Motorsport Club would like to thank all of the competitors, crew, sponsors and the community of Pitt Meadows for helping to make the 2007 Canadian AutoSlalom Championship a huge success. It was a weekend of extremely close competition and great fun. |
