NEW SPONSORSHIP FOR THE
CANADIAN ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE

When the transfer of the 2010 ASN National Championships was announced, it was also announced that this was good news for the competitors and that details would be published later.

It is with great pleasure that SRA Karting International presents the new sponsor of the Canadian Rotax Max Challenge Program: the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School. This sponsorship for the National Racing Team will help the team members to cover a good part of the costs related to the participation at the Rotax Max Grand Finals and which are not included in the program.

One of the benefits of this sponsorship by the Jim Russell Racing School is that the winner of the Rotax Mini-Max class, and one adult, will attend the Grand Finals in Italy next November as spectators. The Mini-Max winner will have the chance to discover the scale of such an international event and to see the worlds best Rotax drivers on track.

For Michel Boisclair, president of SRA Karting, it is important news for the Canadian karting community.

“More than ever, it is difficult to get financial involvement from companies for kart sport and it is sad because karting is the first step in creating the future racing car champions. This is particularly true in North America where it is easier to find sponsors for series like stock cars where the average age of the drivers is easily over 30. Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant motorsports complex and Jim Russell Racing Drivers School are on target with the karters because they are those who will be the next racing car stars.

The Mont-Tremblant organization were serious when they asked to present the 2010 ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championships to show everyone that they wanted to be a major player in our sport right from the start. 

We must succeed to recreate the magic of the 80’s and 90’s when many Canadian Car Racers were showing their talent in the top racing car series such as Formula One, Indycar, Formula Atlantic and other racing series. CHALLENGE ROTAX MAX CANADIEN

Lors de l’annonce du transfert des Championnats Canadiens de karting au circuit Mont-Tremblant, il avait été annoncé que ce transfert était accompagné d’une bonne nouvelle pour les pilotes.

C’est avec un immense plaisir que SRA Karting International annonce l’implication financière de L’école de pilotage Jim Russell dans le programme canadien du Challenge Rotax Max. Cette commandite pour l’équipe nationale Canadienne permettra de couvrir une bonne partie des coûts associés à la participation à la finale mondiale et non couvert par le programme. 

Grande nouveauté cette année, la commandite de l’école de pilotage Jim Russell permettra aussi au champion national dans la catégorie Rotax Mini-Max, et son accompagnateur, d’assister à la finale mondiale en Italie en novembre prochain en tant que spectateur. Il aura alors l’occasion de découvrir l’envergure d’une telle compétition internationale et de voir l’élite mondiale à l’œuvre. 

Pour Michel Boisclair, président de SRA Karting, il s’agit d’une nouvelle d’importance pour le karting canadien.

« Plus que jamais, il est difficile d’obtenir l’implication financière d’entreprises pour le karting et c’est dommage car c’est à partir de cette discipline que nous formons les champions automobiles de demain. Cela est d’autant plus vrai qu’en Amérique du Nord, il est plus facile de trouver des partenaires pour des séries comme le stock car regroupant des pilotes dont la moyenne d’âge dépasse facilement la trentaine.

Le complexe de sport motorisé du Mont-Tremblant et l’école Jim Russell visent juste en ciblant la relève qui est essentielle pour atteindre les plus hauts niveaux du sport automobile. Les gens de Tremblant étaient sérieux quand ils voulaient obtenir la présentation des championnats Canadiens dès cette année pour démontrer qu’ils entraient dès le départ comme des joueurs importants dans notre sport.

Pour Vincent Loughran, responsable de l’école Jim Russell, il s’agit d’un investissement pour le futur. « Une carrière de pilote passe maintenant pour le karting. Il suffit de voir le curriculum vitae des pilotes actuels pour voir que le karting est une partie importante du développement d’un pilote.

Comparativement à ce que nous voyions autrefois, les pilotes arrivent maintenant dans les séries automobiles avec une expérience immense, que ce soit sur l’aspect technique et psychologique, le travail d’équipe et même les relations avec les médias.
